World GIS Day 2017

Since its first official observation in 1999, GIS Day has helped bring awareness to the important roles geography and geographic information systems play in our society. Eighteen years later, it continues to provide a forum for users of GIS technology to demonstrate the real-world applications that make GIS such an important tool for understanding our planet and the people, plants, and animals that inhabit it. The Velocity Suite uses GIS in addition to a relational database – allowing users to visualize data from multiple sources and make the most informed decisions possible. The following collection of maps was made by the team of analysts who work with the Velocity Suite as our way of celebrating GIS Day 2017.
